All Albanian-language dailies and electronic media reported about the parliamentary ballot "in the neighbouring country", quoting Kosovo officials as saying that the elections "have no impact on Kosovo whatsoever".
"Every Serbian government has a duty never to accept Kosovo's separation from Serbia," Kosovo Serb Bishop Artemije said on election day.
A member of the Kosovo Serb National Council, Rada Trajkovic, said she hoped that Serbian citizens would elect a democratic government and that only such a government could be able to advocate the goal of keeping Kosovo part of Serbia.
The leader of the Serb List for Kosovo, Oliver Ivanovic, stated the same, adding that the setup of the new government must be such to win full international support and recognition.
