"Greece plays and will always play a crucial role in supporting Serbia's joining Euro-Atlantic institutions," Karamanlis told a news conference after talking to Serbian President Boris Tadic.
Commenting on a final solution for Kosovo's status, the Greek official said that at the current stage of negotiations it was important that all parties find the best possible solution to that issue.
Greek supports such a solution that will be acceptable to all parties, Karamanlis said.
Commenting on the coming parliamentary elections in Serbia, the Greek PM expressed confidence that the elections would be fair, adding this would be a proof of democratic principles being effective in Serbia.
Serbian President Tadic told reporters the Greek PM was a friend of Serbia and a man who supported the country in its bid to join the EU.
