In an open letter, signed on Monday, the body requested Croatian Television and Croatian Radio to air regular one-hour weekly shows in which nonparliamentary parties would be able to comment on the current state of affairs and present their political views and programmes..
The president of the coordinating body, Maja Marija Jelincic, told a news conference today that all other electronic media and the press, as well as privately owned media, should have similar shows and regular weekly columns.
She asked the media to reduce the coverage of the parliamentary parties in the election year, so as to enable nonparliamentary parties better media coverage.
The body called on Croatian Radio Television and Croatian news agency Hina to voice their opinion about these request within 15 days, otherwise the body would be force tro launch "all other democratic mechanisms", including a protest rally outside Croatian Radio Television.
Jelincic said the coordinating body is supported by over twenty nonparliamentary parties.
