ZAGREB, Dec 14 (Hina) - The Croatian Parliament will hold a debate on Friday on the proposals of the government and parliamentary parties on an amended decision on expanding Croatia's jurisdiction in the Adriatic and the
government-sponsored amendments to the law on the control of the state border, Parliament Speaker Vladimir Seks said on Thursday.
ZAGREB, Dec 14 (Hina) - The Croatian Parliament will hold a debate
on Friday on the proposals of the government and parliamentary parties on an
amended decision on expanding Croatia's jurisdiction in the Adriatic and the
government-sponsored amendments to the law on the control of the state border,
Parliament Speaker Vladimir Seks said on Thursday. The government
proposed that the Ecological and Fisheries Protection Zone (EFPZ) for all
European Union member states be activated on 1 January 2008 at the latest, and
that amendments to the law on the crossing of the state border introduce the
non- discrimination right for Croatian fishermen, who will be able to enter and
stay the EFPZ without passport or border control within 36 hours.
The Social Democratic Party and the Croatian Peasant Party demand an
immediate activation of EFPZ for EU member states, while te Croatian Party of
Rights demand that Exclusive Economic Zone also be activated immediately.
