Long-term assets investments reduced by 13.3 percent in 2009

ZAGREB, Aug 11 (Hina) - Croatian business people invested a total of HRK 50.8 billion in long-term assets in 2009, which was a 13.3-percent drop, or less by HRK 7.8 billion, in comparison to 2008, according to figures released by the Fina financial agency on Wednesday:

These investments were made by 25,749 entrepreneurs (28.2 percent) out of a total of 91,320 entrepreneurs in the country.

Business people in the City of Zagreb top the list with HRK 31.2 billion while their counterparts in Pozega-Slavonia County are at the bottom with HRK 162 million or only 0.3 percent in all long-term assets investments in 2009.

The year 2009 saw the lowest level of this kind of investments in the last five years.

The year 2007 saw the highest long-term assets investments of HRK 75.5 billion with 36.3 percent of business people participating in that.

Fina reports that during the crisis 2009, businessmen's investments of this kind were lowered in 19 out of a total of 21 counties.

The two counties with increasing long-term assets investments were Sibenik-Knin County with a rise of 11.6 percent to HRK 725 million and Sisak-Moslavina County with a rise of 4.6 percent to HRK 590 million.
