ZAGREB, July 7 (Hina) - Croatian Peasant Party (HSS) leader Josip Friscic has said that his party has not discussed possible severance of the ruling coalition, adding that HSS remains in the governing coalition and that no media speculations will undermine the support which the coalition enjoys in the parliament.

Not any HSS body has considered this topic, Friscic told reporters in the parliament on Wednesday who asked him on his position on media speculations that the Social Liberal Party (HSLS) might soon walk out of the ruling coalition.

He said that the coalition would not be undermined by "any message from the media".

Asked whether Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) could be calm regarding cooperation with the HSS, Friscic said that his party would continue operating in accordance the coalition agreement.

Also on Wednesday, Social Democratic Party (SDP) leader Zoran Milanovic made a comment on this topic along these lines.

Asked by reporters whether the Opposition expects the HSLS to join them, Milanovic said that speculation appeared in the media "from the third hand".

He said that the left-of-centre Opposition coalition, including SDP, the Croatian People's Party (HNS), the Istrian Democratic Party (IDS) and the Croatian Pensioners' Party (HSU) would start their campaign next week for the following elections.
