Recalling that Croatia was on the threshold of entering the European Union, President Josipovic said it was important "that Croatian identity be a part of the EU's recognisability".
He expressed confidence that small nations can and must preserve their identity and called for the preservations of the identity of minorities at the same time.
Speaking of the 197-page proceedings, published by the Miko Tripalo centre for democracy and law and the Zagreb Law School, sociologist Biserka Cvjeticanin said the authors regarded identity as a dynamical process, and added that the process of Croatian identity was not yet over.
