The delegation will also include Prime Minister Ivo Sanader, Deputy Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor, who is in charge of war veterans' affairs, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Gordan Jandrokovic, Defence Minister Branko Vukelic, the Armed Forces Chief of Staff, General Josip Lucic, and some other officials, according to a press release issued by the Office of the President.
On the first day of the summit, organised to celebrate NATO's 60th anniversary, Mesic will together with other heads of state of the 28-strong alliance attend an event co-hosted by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Nicolas Sarkozy, and will give a speech on that occasion.
On Saturday, participants in the summit will cross the Passarelle des deux Rives pedestrian bridge over the Rhine connecting Kehl and Strasbourg where they will be welcomed by Sarkozy.
Apart from Croatia, Albania is the other newcomer to the alliance in its sixth wave of expansion.
