Had Croatia been a NATO member in 1990 and 1991, there would have been no aggression against it, Sanader told reporters in Zagreb after his meeting with trade union federations' leaders.
The largest credit for Croatia's NATO memberships goes to soldiers who defended Croatia in the war, as well as to the first President Franjo Tudjman, Sanader said thanking also the incumbent president Stjepan Mesic, the government, the parliament and parliamentary parties for their efforts invested in achieving this objective.
