The civil society organisation called "Istina" issued a statement in Mostar warning that disagreement among Croat parties would lead to that other peoples would again have a final say in electing the Croat representative in the tripartite presidency.
The statement was signed by more than a hundred prominent people from Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
In 2006, Zeljko Komsic of the Social Democratic Party was elected as the Croat member of the state leadership. He is believed to have won the election thanks to votes of Bosniak (Bosnian Muslim) voters.
Each of major Bosnian Croat political parties have nominated their own presidential candidates for the general elections, set for 3 October.
