The activists of this party led by the Lijanovic brothers, businessmen in the meat-processing industry, planned the protest to express disapproval of the changes in the model for voting of the Diaspora in Croatia's parliamentary elections.
"The protest rally was not permitted. The road blockade will not be allowed," said Zoran Kresic, the interior minister of the Herzegovina canton within the Croat-Muslim federation in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The ban forced some 50 activists to give up on the protest.
NSRzB leader Jerko Ivankovic Lijanovic threatened to undertake other forms of protest.
Local residents gathered for a counter-protest, criticising the party's attempt to obstruct the road.
