Several thousand people, including the chairman of the Bosnian collective presidency, Haris Silajdzic, attended Ljubuskic's funeral. The religious rites were conducted by Grand Mufti in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Mustafa Ceric, who deplored in the strongest terms Sunday's terrorist attack.
Thousands of people peacefully marched before and after the funeral through Bugojno to express their outrage at the terrorist attack which killed the 41-year-old policeman and wounded six of his colleagues. The most seriously wounded police officer, Edina Hindic, 26, is still in a critical condition and she is in the intensive care in the Sarajevo clinic hospital.
The police are interrogating five suspects of the Bugojno bomb attack.
Upon the completion of the police questioning, the suspects are to be transferred to the Office of the Bosnian State Prosecution for further investigation.
Naser Palislamovic, believed to be the mastermind of the attack, was arrested on Monday. On Tuesday, another three people were arrested on suspicion that they helped him in an attempt to escape the apprehension.
Bosnian prosecution and police officials have stated that they will do their utmost to detect and prosecute perpetrators of the terrorist act in Bugojno.
The Peace Implementation Council (PIC) steering committee, which held a meeting in Sarajevo on Tuesday, joined in the condemnation of the bomb attack on the Bugojno police station.
"This was not only an attack on the town and citizens of Bugojno, but also on institutions of this country and on our common values," the PIC Steering Committee said in a statement, emphasising that "extremists must not be allowed to harm" the state of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
According to reports of local media, the people who were arrested by the police following the Bugojno incident are connected with the radical Muslim Wahhabi organisations.
Federal police official Zlatko Miletic said on Sunday it was still too early to speak about the motives of the assault.
"I guarantee that this crime will be solved," Miletic said on that occasion.
The car bomb, parked in a parking lot in the vicinity of the Bugojno police station, exploded shortly before 5 am Sunday, killing Ljubuskic and wounding another six police officers.
The policeman who lost his life in the incident was on duty in the station.
The police station and the surrounding buildings were considerably damaged.
