The funds were approved following public calls advertised by the Central State Office for Croats Abroad, and as many as 531 applications were received.
The endorsed grants were allocated to no-profit-making associations and individuals in 15 countries and their amounts range between 6,000 and 75,000 kuna. The one-off grants amounting to HRK 4,000-8,000 were earmarked for destitute persons in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The highest support of 75,000 kuna was allocated to the Subotica-based association of Bunjevacki Croats for their "Duzijanca" custom of traditional thanksgiving pilgrimage celebrating the completion of the harvest season and to the Association of Croatian American Professionals (ACAP), each.
Four grants of 50,000 kuna were set aside for the procurement of equipment for the Dux radio station for Croats in the Montenegrin city of Tivat, to the Croatian National Council in Subotica, Serbia, to the Hrvatske Novine newspaper in Eisenstadt, Austria, and for the procurement of folk costumes for the Croatian School "Cardinal Stepinac" in Chicago.
