The launch of this channel -- HTV 5 -- is in accordance with the contract signed between the HRT and the Croatian government in late September.
The programme for this purpose is to be aired through the HRT satellite and Internet platforms, and the broadcaster provides access to the satellite content in Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand.
News contents will also be aired in English, German and Spanish apart from Croatian, the HRT says.
The HRT is a national public service broadcaster, mainly financed by viewer/listener license fees and advertising. "It has well exceeded a million radio and television listeners/viewers," the HRT says on its web site.
