European raw cotton market sees uplands rise LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND, Dec 16 (Reuter) - Prices for upland cottons tended firmer in Europe on Monday with most origins benefiting from bullish sentiment, market sources said. Evidence that demand for cotton yarns and textiles has been improving was the driving force behind the increases, they said. It was enough to withstand the leaden touch of New York futures prices which were called to open 0.10-0.20 cents a lb lower on Monday.
