The weak technical close sets the market up for further losses on Tuesday, they added, pegging support at 72.00 cents followed by the contract low of 71.00 cents. A lack of fundamental news kept turnover to an estimated 6,000 lots compared with Friday's official 7,303 lots. "There is no news to put any kind of spark in the market," a trader said. Tuesday's spec/hedge report is expected to show the speculators to be holding at 15 to 20 percent net short position, which some traders said could inspire a rally. Nearby resistance was seen at 73.50 cents followed by 74.10 cents, where buy stops are expected to be resting. July ended 0.66 cent weaker at 72.38 cents per lb, having ranged from 73.30 to 72.30 cents. New-crop December finished down 0.43 cent at 74.80 cents.
