They said follow-through buying Friday could lift benchmark July toward its upside target of 74.50 cents a lb. Gains could be short-lived, however, as the market lacks any bullish fundamentals. Ultimately, many trading sources expect July to hit new contract lows. "I think we'll see a 'six' in front of July," said Sharon Johnson, an analyst with Frank Schneider and Co Inc. Trade selling should limit gains in the near term, dealers said. July ended 0.86 cent higher at 73.16 cents after trading from 73.20 to 72.60 cents. New-crop December finished 0.55 cent firmer at 75.16 cents. Trade was estimated at 10,000 lots compared with Wednesday's official 3,918 lots. 161049 MET may 97
