The group's command ship is the Mehmed Pasha from the Turkish Navy, and the other five vessels are from Britain, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Turkey. Their primary task is to gather data about mines in the Mediterranean and the Black Sea, and they are also involved in other activities such as training exercises, crisis-response operations and operational missions. They can detect mines at depths of up to 250 metres.
During the group's stay in Croatia, a training course in anti-mine warfare and in anti-nuclear, biological and chemical warfare will be organised for Croatian Navy personnel.
