SPLIT, Nov 22 (Hina) - The first humanitarian convoy to central
Bosnia will leave from an UNPROFOR British base in Tomislavgrad
early Wednesday morning. This was decided at a meeting between
the commander of the UNPROFOR British Battalion, Brigadier John
G. Reith, and the commander of the Croatian Defence Council
(HVO), General Ante Roso, held in Tomislavgrad on Monday.
The convoy will be escorted by the British Battalion. General
Roso assumed commitments that everything would be done to secure
free and unhindered passage for relief convoys travelling through
HVO-held areas. He pledged the HVO would open a mountain route
from Tomislavgrad via Mount Vran to Prozor, Gornji Vakuf and
further on to Travnik and Vitez.
The convoy will consist of 36 British military vehicles and will
dispatch 260 cubic metres of humanitarian aid.
