BRUSSELS, Nov 18 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic met
with Chairman of the Ministerial Council of the European Union
Willy Claes on Thursday.
Following the talks, Minister Granic told reporters that he had
informed Mr Claes of the minimum below which Croatia could not
accept peace proposals. "This includes the territorial integrity
and sovereignty of Croatia, which in no way can be called into
question. What is more, it should be clearly underlined in the
offer," Granic said and added that the same could be said of the
Franco-German peace initiative, which will be discussed in the
Ministerial Council of the European Union on November 22.
In reference to the Croatian President's peace initiative, Mr
Claes said: "I think it a very interesting and valuable plan with
many elements which can be included in the peace agreement. The
message brought by Minister Granic is very important."
Minister Granic said that the talks had also revolved around the
situation in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
