ZAGREB, Nov 7 (Hina) - President of the Republic of Croatia, Dr. Franjo
Tudjman received today the delegation of the German parliament (Bundestag),
the members of which were representatives of the Christian-Social Unoin
(CSU), led by the Vice-Chairman of the Parliament, Mr. Hans Klein. Their
talks revolved around the issue of the current situation in Croatia and
Bosnia-Herzegovina. President Tudjman and his guests also considered the
issue of political and economic cooperation between Croatia and Germany.
Mr. Klein expressed gratitude to Croatia for its peace initiatives and
efforts to achieve an agreement with the Moslem-dominated leadership of B-
H, according to which a lasting peace could be established in the Union of
the Republics of B-H.
President Tudjman pointed out the stability of the democratic sustem in
Croatia, and added that Croatia, that had always belonged to the Western
civilization, was expecting more intensive economic, financial and other
kinds of cooperation with those countries that had already given support to
the independency of Croatia. In that context President Tudjman mentioned
especially the traditional links between Croatia and Bavaria. He also
emphasized that many Croatian workers in Germany together with German
workers largely contributed in delivering relief aid to the refugees and
diplaced persons in Croatia.
