ZAGREB, Dec 15 (Hina) - The Croatian Independent Unions' Federation
(SSSH) today forwarded an open letter to the Croatian Association
of Employers (HUP) regarding its statement on a warning strike the
SSSH had announced for December 16.
Responding to the HUP's accusations that the SSSH was
manipulating employees and violating an agreement with the HUP, the
SSSH said it had ensured that vital businesses would not be
interrupted.
Denying the HUP's allegation that talks on the National
Agreement were in progress, the letter said they broke off on
December 7 because the Government refused to accept a compromise
offered by the unions, which was accepted by the HUP.
The SSSH described as untrue the HUP's allegation that the
unions had not shown interest in negotiations and peaceful
resolution of the issues of great importance to employees in
Croatia.
