ZAGREB, Dec 15 (Hina) - A UN helicoper flying from Split to
Sarajevo came under anti-aircraft and small-arms fire at about
11:00 hours while flying over Bosnian Serb-controlled territory, UN
spokesman Paul Risley today told a news conference.
The helicopter was hit by several bullets and made an
emergency landing in Kiseljak, 20 km W. of Sarajevo, Risley said,
adding that the information was not yet confirmed by the UN
headquarters in Sarajevo.
The copter was going to Sarajevo to pick up UN Commander in
Bosnia, Gen. Sir Michael Rose, and fly him to a meeting with NATO
officials in Italy, Risley said.
He said the Bosnian Serbs had authorised the flight and had
been told who was to board the helicopter.
