ZAGREB, Nov 5 (Hina) - Croatian President Dr. Franjo Tudjman today
met US special envoy Charles Thomas and US Ambassador in Croatia
Peter Galbraith.
After the meeting US envoy Thomas said they had discussed the
situation and the efforts for implementing of an overall peace plan
in former Yugoslavia.
Asked about today's talks of five-power Contact Group for
Bosnia-Herzegovina members with UN special envoy Yasushi Akashi
that had been held in the Zagreb headquarters of UN peace keepers,
US diplomat said the aim of the talks was to gain better insight
into the current situation. The Contact Group members wanted to be
informed of Akashi's and UNPROFOR military heads' views on the
developments in the region.
He reiterated that the purpose of their meeting with Akashi
was not to make any conclusions but to be better informed of
UNPROFOR's stance on the developments.
