KUWAIT, Oct 8 (Hina) - Diplomatic relations between Croatia and
Kuwait were established today when Foreign Ministers of Croatia and
Kuwait Dr. Mate Granic and Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaba Al Sabah
exchanged notes during their talks in the capital of Kuwait.
Croatian Foreign Minister said that the talks had been
conducted in the "excellent atmosphere".
During the talks Kuwaiti Foreign Minister fully supported
Croatia's demands to reintegrate its occupied areas into the
Croatian constitutional and legal system.
He also backed the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina regarding
the alliance between Croats and Moslems as the only solution to the
crisis in the area.
The two ministers also discussed Iraqi military threats to
Kuwait.
Kuwaiti Minister described Saddam's threats as an attack on
the United Nations, especially on the U.S.A. and Kuwait.
But, he held that the Iraqi soldiers' heading toward the
Kuwaiti border were just part of maneuvering, and Saddam would be
satisfied with this kind of threats.
The situation in Kuwait is stable and calm, although its
government today held an urgent session.
The talks between the Croatian delegation and its Kuwaiti
hosts on political and economic cooperation will continue tomorrow.
