ZAGREB, Sept 15 (Hina) - Today's issue of VJESNIK devotes more than
a page to yesterday's Government session. The emphasis is on the
Government's protest to the UN Security Council over the latest
attack on Zupanja from the Serb-occupied territory of Bosnia-
Herzegovina.
The article also says that industrial output increased in
August.
The paper carries two comment pieces on the Pope's visit to
Croatia. One author, Viktor Tadic, says that the Pope "called on
the Croats to forgive and to look to the future, stressing three
imperatives: reconciliation, forgiveness, and the rejection of
nationalistic intolerance".
The other author, Zlatko Gall, says that the Pope "encouraged
and gave his blessing to a Croatian State that accepts the idea of
a society described in the Lord's Prayer: a society without
violence guided by the principles of brotherly solidarity".
"The Teachers Have Not Been Cheated," a 20-cm bold-type front-
page headline in VECERNJI LIST claims. The article on the teachers'
strike quotes Premier Valentic as saying that if the Unions'
arguments were true, the Government should resign.
In a report on the teachers' Unions' press conference, the
paper says that two 'Education International' monitors arrived in
Zagreb on Wednesday to see if there was any violation of democratic
procedure.
