MOSTAR, Aug 2 (Hina) - European Union Administrator of Mostar Hans
Koschnik held a meeting Tuesday with the Mayors of the western and
eastern sections of Mostar, Mijo Brajkovic and Safet Orucevic
respectively, at which a 15-member Advisory Council was founded.
The Advisory Council consists of five Croats, five Bosniacs
(Moslems), three Serbs, one Jew, and one Mostar resident of mixed
ethnic origin who will be appointed personally by Koschnik.
The Council will deal with legal, economic and financial
issues.
Asked at a press conference whether the meeting discussed a
Croat proposal that Mostar should be divided in two municipalities,
Brajkovic replied that the proposal was not on the agenda today.
"This is a political option we will discuss together," he said and
added that "the European Union will not predetermine a political
settlement in Mostar."
Orucevic stressed that "the Bosniac stance is clear - an
integral city."
