ZAGREB, July 4 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman on Monday
received the Chief of the EU Monitor Mission, Joachim von
Stuelpnagel, and the Mission's political advisor, Heinrich Haupt,
said the President's office. The talks focused on the Mission's
tasks in the current situation.
President Tudjman expressed the hope that the Monitor Mission
would continue forwarding objective reports on the situation in
Croatia to the European Union.
Ambassador Stuelpnagel stressed that the Mission's activities
were based on the principle of neutrality, but that did not mean
restraint when the principles of European civilisation and
democracy were at stake. He confirmed that the EU Monitor Mission
would correctly perform its task, said the statement.
