FOUR SERB TANKS POSITIONED NEAR DISENGAGEMENT ZONE IN SECTOR EAST

ZAGREB, Aug 2 (Hina) - Rebel Serbs on Monday positioned four tanks at two spots near the disengagement zone in UNPROFOR Sector East, UNPROFOR spokesman in Zagreb Paul Risley told a news conference on Tuesday. "Besides, the Serbs took away another three tanks from a storage area in Sector North and positioned them along the Croatian-Bosnian border," Risley said. Asked how it was possible for the Serbs to take away the tanks without anyone stopping them, Risley said the "military observers only supervised the storage areas, which are not guarded or secured by UN troops." The rebel Serbs earlier took some twenty tanks and other heavy artillery and positioned them along the Croatian-Bosnian border or in the depth of the Bosnian territory as a support to the forces loyal to renegade Moslem leader Fikret Abdic, said Risley.
