ZAGREB, Feb 17 (Hina) - At today's press-conference in Zagreb Dr
Ivo Komsic, a member of the B-H Presidency and the Chairman of the
Croatian National Assembly of Bosnia-Herzegovina, the executive
body elected at the Sarajevo Congress of Croats (6th of February
1994) said that "the peace plan adopted at the Sarajevo Congress of
Croats of Bosnia-Herzegovina is grounded on the principle of
preservation of entire Bosnia-Herzegovina within its
internationally recognized borders. The war in Bosnia-Herzegovina
could be immediately stopped by accepting that plan."
Dr Ivo Komsic stressed that "The Croatian National Assembly
(HNV) of Bosnia-Herzegovina need not be regarded as a
counterbalance to Herceg-Bosna," adding that "we have only
reasserted the will of the Croatian people already expressed at the
referendum of 1992."
Komsic also told journalists that the talks with
representatives of the Croatian Republic of Herceg-Bosna, commenced
in Geneva, were being resumed in Zagreb. "I am optimist," said
Komsic commenting on those talks. Asked whether that plan enjoyed
the support of both the B-H Presidency and Parliament he answered
that the Presidency and Parliament of Bosnia-Herzegovina had
accepted that plan as one of the variants that might be discussed
in Geneva.
Komsic added that at the session of the B-H Parliament (on the 7th
of February 1994) behind the closed doors "it was for the first
time proposed by the Moslem side on the partition of B-H and the
establishment of the Moslem state in the central Bosnia-
Herzegovina." "I suppose it is a proposal made by the radical wing
of the (Moslem-led) Party of the Democrat Action (SDA) and it
should be kept in mind that it has its advocates," said Komsic at
today's press-conference in Zagreb.
