ZAGREB, Feb 2 (Hina) - Croatian Helsinki Committee (HHO) forwarded
a letter to the German Chancellor Helmut Kohl with a request to use
his political authority in helping numerous Croatian refugees
accommodated in Germany.
The letter stressed that Germany was a shelter to those whose
lives had been directly threatened and those who for the most part
have nowhere to return to, either because their homes had been
destroyed or are still under Serb occupation.
The plea by the HHO followed after Germany announced to cut
the residence permit to Croatian refugees starting April 30.
