SARAJEVO, May 23 (Hina) - Bosnian Serbs hijacked yet another UN
vehicle near Sarajevo last night.
Two armed men let UN peacekeepers go unharmed but together
with the vehicle they took several radio sets and UN-marked
berets, a UN spokesman said in Sarajevo today.
The theft of UN vehicles and equipment on Serb-controlled
access roads to Sarajevo has become almost an everyday
occurrence.
The assailants wore blue flak jackets which had probably
been stolen from a UN vehicle.
A jeep belonging to the office of the special UN coordinator
for Sarajevo was stolen two days ago as a UN delegation was
returning from negotiations with Serb officials in the Lukavica
barracks.
Earlier that day, Serbs had hijacked a UNICEF vehicle at the
Kobiljaca check point, on a road to Kiseljak.
UN officials in Sarajevo could not be specific about the
number of stolen vehicles and equipment, but stressed there had
been dozens of such incidents.
