ZAGREB, May 15 (Hina) - Today's VJESNIK says that a part of the
international diplomacy "easily falls for Serb tricks", whereas in
western Slavonia "Serb civilians emphasize no one is abusing them."
In an article headlined 'It is Easier to Accuse Croatia" a
journalist, Ivica Marijacic, says some diplomats got used to the
existence the occupier's illegal state in Croatia, the so-called
'Krajina', and now they are trying to protect it.
Marijacic adds that Croatia has reason to doubt the
objectivity of many mediators, and cites an example of Lord David
Owen that may serve as a model for 'the consistent contra-Croatian
diplomacy'.
A VJESNIK correspondent, Trajko Grkovski, writes a report
"Only the Poor Remain" about that how Serbs in Kordun (former
Sector North of Croatia) are fed up with the Serb occupation.
In the other daily, VECERNJI LIST, Fran Plancic, comments on
Croatian and Serbian losses in the limited action of Croatian
police and army in western Croatia. He says the morale and
motivation of the Croatian armed force and the enemy troops could
be reflected in the ratio of human losses. According to Plancic's
statistics, the ratio is one killed Croatian soldier to twenty
enemy soldiers.
"Europe - Advantage and Responsibility" is the headline of
VECERNJI LIST's interview with Croatian Ambassador in Strasbourg.
The Croatian Ambassador says the European project should be
positively assessed, but through discussions Croatia should decide
models of joining and engagement as well as the right time and
positions for such moves.
