BERN, May 13 (Hina) - The Croatian World Congress for Switzerland
held its 2nd convention today in Bern.
The convention was attended by Croatian Ambassador in Bern Dr.
Zdenko Skrabalo and a member of the permanent mission of Croatia to
the UN in Geneva, Neven Madey. The working session of the
Convention attracted representatives of 37 Croatian associations
and many Catholic missions as well as eminent Croatian immigrants
in Switzerland.
The Convention confirmed that the present steering committee
should lead the Congress in the next two years, so that Branko
Grizelj would remain at the head of the Croatian World Congress for
Switzerland in that period.
This organization is trying to coordinate between other
association of Croats in Switzerland aiming at successful promotion
of Croatia in Switzerland where about 100,000 Croats live.
The Congress for Switzerland has gathered so far 80 per cent
of Croat associations there, and new three such societies were
admitted to the Congress at this Convention.
The II Convention expressed full support to the Croatian
Government as regards its latest moves in western Slavonia.
