ZAGREB, May 3 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic today
forwarded letters to foreign ministers of the permanent UN Security
Council member states, the European Union "troika" and Hungary,
which is presiding over the OESCE, a Foreign Ministry statement
said.
On behalf of Croatian President Franjo Tudjman, Granic also
sent a letter to Italy's Foreign Minister, Susanna Agnelli, in
reply to her letter of May 2.
Granic informed his counterparts of the successful completion
of a joint police and military action along the Zagreb-Lipovac
highway, and of terrorist attacks on Zagreb and other Croatian
towns.
In the event of repeated terrorist attacks, Croatia would be
forced to resolutely respond to protect its civilian population,
Granic wrote.
Croatia still supported the peaceful reintegration of its
occupied areas and would continue its participation in the peace
process in order to achieve a comprehensive peaceful resolution of
the crisis in the region, Granic said.
As part of diplomatic activities of the Croatian Foreign
Ministry, Croatian diplomats abroad would convey all relevant
information to foreign ministries in their host countries. They
would also deliver the text of yesterday's televised address by
President Tudjman, the statement said.
