BONN/ZAGREB, May 2 (Hina) - Germany's Foreign Minister Klaus Kinkel
today in a special statement repeated his appeal to "the Croatian
government and Knin authorities to stop hostilities at once".
Both sides are to blame for the hostilities. In the moment of
the ceasefire expiry in Bosnia-Herzegovina a new escalation in
Croatia as well must be prevented, says Kinkel's statement sent to
the Croatian Foreign Ministry.
Germany's permanent UN representative yesterday received
instructions to take part in the preparation of the report of the
UN Security Council ad hoc session, which criticizes renewed
hostilities and demands from the Croatian side to stop the
offensive against Krajina Serbs, the statement says.
The statement also says that Minister Kinkel yesterday talked
on the phone with Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic, and was
assured by Granic that the action of Croatian police forces was
strictly limited to securing unhindered traffic on the highway.
