ZAGREB, May 3 (Hina) - A verbal agreement was reached on a total
cessation of hostilities in Croatia as of 16.00 hours today, UN
special envoy Yasushi Akashi said.
Following is the text of the agreement:
"There will be a total cessation of hostilities in Sector
West (Western Slavonia) and elsewhere from 1600 hours 3 May 1995.
Civilians and soldiers who wish to leave Sector West
(Western Slavonia) may do so under United Nations surveillance, in
conjunction with UNHCR, ICRC, and the local Red Cross as required.
Soldiers may leave with personal sidearms only. All other
weapons will be handed over to the United Nations forces for
custody.
The movement of persons wishing to leave Sector West
(Western Slavonia) will take place on the road Pakrac-Okucani-
Dobovac flyover-Stara Gradiska."
