SARAJEVO, Apr 8 (Hina) - The situation in Sarajevo was calm but
tense this morning, the UN in Sarajevo said.
No major incidents were reported either in Sarajevo or on the
Igman road, UN spokesperson Miriam Sohacko told reporters.
The 'Kasindol' road connecting downtown Sarajevo and the
airport, which crosses the Serb-occupied territory, was still
closed.
Bosnian Serbs yesterday threatened to use force when UNPROFOR
posted 30 peace-keepers and four armoured personnel carriers near a
Serb checkpoint on this road.
The notorious 'Siera 4' checkpoint had been installed in
contravention of agreements and often served for robbing UN
personnel and abducting journalists and humanitarian activists.
UN vehicles are using the Bosnian army-controlled Dobrinja
road to get to the airport.
