ZAGREB, March 15 (Hina) - Croatian Vice Premier Ivica Kostovic
today met the chief of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees
mission in Zagreb, Jacques Mouchet.
"We discussed the problems of refugees expelled from Banja
Luka region in northwest Bosnia and their uncertain accommodation
in UN Sector West", Kostovic said.
He added that Croatia had no intention of building new
centers for those refugees who were in transit.
Kostovic stressed that Croatia supported close cooperation
with the UNHCR in protecting the civilians living in the occupied
areas.
He said that they also talked about refugees' health
insurance.
"In the past two years UNHCR has earmarked 10 million US
dollars for medical treatment of refugees, which covered only a
small part of the expenses," Kostovic said.
He asked the UNHCR to use its influence with European
countries, particularly Sweden, and convince them to postpone the
return of refugees to Croatia at least for another three months.
