ZAGREB, March 15 (Hina) - The head of the Croatian Government
Office for Refugees and Displaced Persons, Minister Adalbert Rebic,
today met the chief administrator of the Brussels-based European
Union Humanitarian Office (ECHO), Valeriano Diaz, a Croatian
Government statement said.
They discussed a Croatian government request that the European
Union buy some of the food in Croatia which would be sent as
humanitarian aid to displaced persons and refugees in Croatia.
This request was also the subject of separate talks this
afternoon between Diaz and Deputy Prime Minister Ivica Kostovic.
Diaz told Hina that the EU would not object to buying some
products in Croatia but it would insist that the food meet high-
quality standards.
