A RALLY STAGED BY SERBS FROM RIJEKA, ISTRIA AND KVARNER

RIJEKA, March 7 (Hina) - A rally of the citizens of Serb nationality from Rijeka, Istria and the Kvarner Islands was staged this evening in Rijeka to show their support to efforts aimed at peaceful reintegration of UNPAs into the Croatian constitutional and legal system. Letters to the ambassadors of the United States, Russian Federation, Germany, France and Great Britain were sent from the rally. The participants in the rally also sent a message to the Serb population in the occupied Croatian areas. The Serbs from Rijeka, Istria and the Kvarner Islands, where some 40,000 of them live, expressed in the letters to the ambassadors their belief that the international forces should be deployed at the borders of the Republic of Croatia and then all issues should be resolved step by step. The message to the Serb inhabitants in the occupied areas presented an appeal for making it possible to visit separated families and enabling priests to visit their congregations.
