ZUZUL MEETS FRENCH FOREIGN MINISTRY OFFICIALS

PARIS, March 2 (Hina) - Croatia and France are to work together in search of a political solution that would prevent an escalation of war in Croatia, lead to a resumption of talks between Croatian government and rebel Serbs and also ensure the continuation of the peace operations in Bosnia-Herzegovina. These are the conclusions reached at talks between Croatian President Tudjman's special envoy, Miomir Zuzul and French Foreign Ministry officials yesterday in Paris. The French delegation included the director of the Department for Relations with UN, Colin de Verbiere, and director of the Analysis and Planning Centre, Bruno Racine. Zuzul, who was accompanied by Croatian Ambassador Branko Salaj, put forward Croatia's suggestions for the operational side of the UNPROFOR pull-out and for monitoring the overall situation, particularly at the border, after the withdrawal of the peace- keepers. Zuzul emphasized that Croatia did not favour the war option, but insisted on the reintegration of its occupied territories. A new round of Croatian-French diplomatic talks is expected to take place in a week. (Hina) jn rv 021141 MET mar 95
