SARAJEVO, March 7 (Hina) - The Sarajevo Airport has been
temporarily closed this morning from 9 to 11 am.
UNPROFOR spokesman in Sarajevo, Herve Gourmelon, said that one
bullet hit an Ilyushin-76 plane just after 9 am while it was trying
to land.
In the Sarajevo area 435 armed incidents were recorded
yesterday, UNPROFOR said adding that sniper attacks had become very
serious.
Serb forces yesterday opened fire at an Egyptian armoured
vehicle and French peacekeepers in Sarajevo. Another UN spokesman,
Alexander Ivanko, said that all this looked like "a planned attack
for which special orders had been issued."
Ivanko also confirmed that the Serb commander Ratko Mladic
asked UNPROFOR to withdraw from the eastern Bosnian enclaves and
Sarajevo if the 'blue helmets' pulled out from Croatia.
Serbs today again rejected a clearance for UNPROFOR civilian
police to visit the crew of a "Pharmaciens sans Frontiers" convoy -
one American and four Frenchmen who were detained by Serbs last
Saturday in the occupied Sarajevo suburb of Lukavica.
