ZAGREB, Jan 27 (Hina) - A Croatian delegation headed by Parliament
Speaker Nedjeljko Mihanovic this morning returned from a visit to
Poland.
The delegation attended the celebration of the 50eth
anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp.
"The celebration plunged me into depression," Mihanovic said.
He said he had not been able to forget that nothing was known
about the fate of Croatia's 3,000 missing persons and detainees in
Serb jails.
Croatian army Chief-of-Staff, Gen. Janko Bobetko said that
that "horrible genocide of innocent people because of their
nationality" was a warning for the future.
"But it is still happening here in Europe on the threshold of
the 21st century," Bobetko said.
The Croatian delegation included Jewish Community president,
Ognjen Kraus, and Member of Parliament Milivoj Kujundzic.
