SISAK, Jan 27 (Hina) - Shortly before 3 am today 15,744 square
metres of oil reached the Sisak oil terminal after the northern
branch of the Adriatic pipeline, starting from the Omisalj terminal
on the island of Krk, was put in operation yesterday, Sisak
refinery dispatcher Stanislav Matijevic said.
This was the first amount of oil to flow through the 180 km
long pipepline after it had been shut down three and a half years
ago.
The pipeline was reopened under the 2 December 1994 economic
agreement between the Croatian government and rebel Serbs in UN
protected areas.
