ZAGREB, Jan 13 (Hina) - Security Council resolution 970 includes a
provision saying that the import, export and transshipment of
goods, excluding humanitarian aid, through Serb-held areas in
Croatia and Bosnia had to be approved by the respective governments
of Croatia and Bosnia.
This provision was included on the basis of a January 5 report
which was submitted to the UN secretary general by the co-chairmen
of the Geneva-based International Conference on the former
Yugoslavia (ICFY), UNPROFOR spokesman Christopher Gunness said in
Zagreb today.
Gunness added that the provision applied to all transshipments
across the Yugoslav-Bosnian border and that its implementation was
a matter for the ICFY to discuss.
Gunnes said that UNPROFOR so far had taken no steps in this
regard.
UNPROFOR's measures in implementing this decision would depend
on the situation on the ground and steps taken by ICFY officials,
he said.
