The final decision on this matter could be made at a
party congress, which is expected to take place in summer next
year, Izetbegovic said, adding he expected that improvements
would be made in the process of establishment of the Croat-Muslim
Federation.
Izetbegovic said his optimism was based on progress
achieved lately, especially concerning the adoption of a law on
internal affairs in three Federation cantons.
Commenting on the situation in Bosnia-Herzegovina as a
whole, Izetbegovic said that there had been no great results in
1996, but there had neither been any great disappointments
concerning the implementation of the Dayton agreement.
The greatest challenge in 1997 would be the solution of the
status of the north-eastern town of Brcko and the revival of
production, he said.
