requested the local Croatian police in the northern-Bosnian town of
Odzak to immediately release four Serbs arrested on Tuesday near
the village of Donja Dubica. #L#
UN spokesman Alexander Ivanko said today this arrest was
considred as a violation of the freedom of movement.
The arrested four were allegedly travelling to Bosanski Brod
and claimed they had got lost.
According to Ivanko, the Odzak police initially said the four
were to be exchanged for two HVO members who had been arrested in
Derventa. This statement was subsequently retracted by a senior
police officer, who said the four were under suspicion of
espionage.
