SARAJEVO, Dec 17 (Hina) - Bosnia-Herzegovina's Government with the
incumbent members held the last session in Sarajevo on Tuesday when
it decided to transfer all tax revenues and profits to bodies of
authorities in the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina and its
cantons.
Bosnia-Herzegovina's Premier Hasan Muratovic and Foreign
Minister Jadranko Prlic held a news conference on occasion of the
end of the mandate of this government, which had commenced on
February 1, 1996.
They stressed that the transfer would be a big step which
would enable full functions of the (Croat-Moslem) Bosnian federal
authorities.
Prlic added that all prerequisites had been created for the
single financial system within the Federation to begin as of
January 1997.
Prlic recalled that despite difficult conditions, an
unexpectedly high rate of economic growth with some 40% had been
ensured in the past period, but that the situation in Bosnia-
Herzegovina was still burdened with the worrisome poverty and lack
of political will to fulfill commitment.
Muratovic said that the full cooperation in Bosnia's state
parliament would be necessary for the effective work of a new
government. He added that he did not know why the parliamentary
session, scheduled for Tuesday, had been postponed, but voiced a
hope that parliamentarians would gather very soon.
Muratovic and Prlic will be also members of a new government,
the Council of Ministers of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
