PLOCE, 12 Dec (Hina) - The ship 'Sondos' from the United Arab
Emirates, carrying weaponry for the Federation of Bosnia-
Herzegovina, entered the Croatian port of Ploce on Thursday.
The ship is carrying 36 105-mm cannons, 70 boxes with reserve
parts and other equipment for cannons, as well as 20 containers
with other military equipment.
The Ploce-based IFOR public relations office stated that the
weapons represented the most important part of the United Arab
Emirates' contribution to the 'Equip and Train' program of the
Federation army, which was devised by the United States, with the
help of other countries. The program is being carried out by a
private U.S. firm MPRI.
The unloading of the ship is attended by MPRI representatives
and Federation Defence Ministry officials. The weapons will be
temporarily stored in the Ploce port warehouse.
An Egyptian ship with military equipment for the Federation of
Bosnia-Herzegovina is waiting to enter the Ploce port.
